A Bit About Me
I am a woman, a wife, a mother. I have loved the same man for more than half my life and together we have made two beautiful children, Amelia & Emmett. It was Amelia's third birthday party that inspired me to start making dolls. This was the first time she had little friends coming to her party and I had the (crazy) idea to make a doll in the likeness of each little girl. I spent a month of naptimes & bedtimes camped out at my sewing machine with Gilmore Girls running on my laptop in the background. After seeing the girls excited faces when they met their dolls I was hooked.
I have been a novice seamstress my whole life. My mom, and Grandma Hazel taught me to sew as a little girl. I made my first outfit out of tea towels when I was four. They taught me important things, like to never EVER swear at your machine or else it will quit working for you forever and you will have to buy a new one. My husband thinks its funny to hear me growling & grumbling nonsense words in the next room when something's not working out.
The name of my shop is inspired by my sweet old dog Gracie Lou. She is a wonderful Australian Shepherd who used to love nothing more than chasing a ball for hours on ends. These days she's happy to just sit in the grass and sniff the breeze blowing through our yard. We know our time with her is coming to an end and I wanted her legacy to live on through these dolls.
